April 28, 1975 to Present
We are 25% through a year that is halfway through a new decade, in a new century and new millennium...
I remember when I used to think 30 was old.
I remember 10 years ago, I used to watch this TV show thirty-something thinking how much I could NOT relate to their lives at all.
Now...thinking back on that TV show...
I still can't relate.
I remember being a freshman in college like it was yesterday.
It was so easy in those days to find others born in 1975.
It wasn't a big deal, or a major topic of conversation...it just WAS.
Now if you find another one, it becomes an instant connection.
A MOMENT if you will...
You understand their journey a little bit better and for some reason they understand yours. You pray that they are comfortable
with their directions and decisions and progress and purpose.
No regrets. Never regret.
You're still too young for that.
There is still so much TIME to turn anything around that may appear backwards in the mirror.
It's nice to be able to reminisce from time to time with my girls, my crew, my peeps
and talk about college 12 years ago or high school in the "80's".
It sounds like a long time ago, but it still feels like yesterday.
Keeping friendships is a good thing.
It reminds me that it happened.
It reminds me of how far we've all come.
It reminds me that it is Ok...
to turn thirty today.

Happy Birthday, Sister! I didn't know we had soooo much in common. My birthday is next Saturday. Celebrate for me and perhaps, in a couple of weeks, we can celebrate together. 30 ain't half old! Been there, done that! Enjoy!!!
Happr Birthday O Beautiful and Talented One! It was good to talk to you on the train!
And so the unedited Karoack-whack rambling will begin...
Interestingly, I am 50 days from my own dekatriptik (not that that's a word)!
Since I consider myself such a fascinating person (OK when you're done laughing keep reading), I usually prefer equally fascinating people in my life. And as it works out my closest friends and family are in some way connected.
Emmet and Pamela (my sister) 7/28
Angela and my mom 2/4
All my siblings are 10 days apart (OK that's a little strange).
And now I realize your b-day is 50 days from mine. It's like karma, dude...and James Brown was born on my birthday! And what's more similar to a white 30 year old herpetologist in Ohio, than the 60-plus Godfather of Soul from Georgia?
OK, now I'll get back to my super-quantitative research, which teeters me nervously near atheism within the wonderful world of evolution!
Happy Birthday, this blog's for you!
Such a talent; such a joy; such a wonderful gift from God to all of us who know you. Thank you to your parents for choosing each other to love and allow you to be a by-product of their love. Your creation is grace from God. I am glad to be apart of it. Enjoy your life...today! Cheri
Happy Birthday Iyeoka! I'm so happy that I could share in your day on Sunday. I am truly blessed to have such a talented and spirited friend in you. I know you will enjoy this day. Happy 30 years of wonderful!!!
Luv,
Christine

and so the real journey begins. leaving behind the days of younger and beginning a on a path to eternal youth where you get to test that which you gathered and script new formulae that will be your pillar(s) from this day forward. what a beautiful time to look forward to. what grace. what joy. what wisdom to pray becomes yours for evermore! and in six moons i shall be glad to join you at that altar where the goddesses that took their crown at 21 add a star shinning bright as gems and hold hands singing of youth and grace eternal.
