The Lilly-Pad Show

Thank you.Thank you.Thank you.Thank you.Thank you.
ALL for coming out for this show!

It was such an incredible turn out for the show at the Lilly Pad (Formerly the Zeitgeist) YOU who came out and you who spread the word about the show...see first sentence of this blog entry. Danielle Scott and Element Soul had me on my feet and the audience nodding to the drum beat...

Seriously though. Just as most shows these days has been for me.
This one in particular was that much more therapeutic for me.
My brother and sisters came in from out of town...
So many familiar faces and just as wonderful were the many NEW faces.

My only wish was that we were all able to hang out longer to connect.

Connecting to people after a performance is probably my biggest reward for giving the moment my all on the stage.

If you were there...please send me your thoughts
public and private comments are welcome!

Just a quick note to say this show was amazing! As a long time friend and fan, I have watched your talent and words develop into something profound and inspiring. Last night I watched you move your audience to tears. Do you know what that means? You've brought us to the next level of consciousness. You "Woke" us up. I thought last night...Why does Iyeoka always have to go though so many trials and tribulations? The answer became clear to me this morning as I woke from processing the previous evening's events. "She goes through this for us," I noted. Iyeoka, you have become the vehicle for the people willing to listen to what you have to say. Well, my sister, my friend, I am willing!

I've heard you twice, now, IO... both times moved me deeply -- and both times you greeted me with joyfulness and humbleness and warmth. And this is how you treat strangers!

We come from vastly different places, different histories, and different points of view -- but we have something in common: a desire to connect with people, to share our hearts and fears and hopes and struggles with them. . . so that they might feel less alone; and so that we might feel the same.

I am looking forward to when we can explore ways to collaborate creatively... be it with words, notes, rhythms, or some other way, yet to be imagined.

just wanted to let you know that your performance at the Lily Pad was just what i needed.
bad day combined with a million other things, but still Liz managed to get me to come - i love her, she's an incredible sister.
it's been a while, but...i wish i was still living in boston so i could hear more. your performance touched that deep place in all of us that we rarely commune with unless forced to. (unless we are poets, in which case...)
thanks again, and keep it up. :)
